My Top 10 Books on My Faith and Fitness Journey

I love a good book list. And odds are, if you’re reading this, you do too! Give me a good book, a cup of coffee, and a brisk morning on my back porch and I’m a happy man. 


So let’s cut to the chase. Here are my top 10 books for anyone who is wanting to learn more about living an authentically Catholic, healthy, and holy lifestyle. 


Spiritual/Theology Reading

  2. Witness to Hope by George Weigel 

  3. Love & Responsibility by Karol Wjotyla 

  4. Christ the Life of the Soul by Blessed Columba Marmion

  5. The Collected Works of John of the Cross 

  6. The Fulfillment of All Desire by Ralph Martin


Exercise/Nutrition: 

  1. The God of Endurance: A Practical Guide to Incorporate Exercise and Nutrition in your Spiritual Journey by Dan Burke & Chase Crouse (coming summer of 2025!)

  2. The Journey to Self Gift by Crouse and West 

  3. Forever Strong by Gabrielle Lyon

  4. Genius Foods by Max Lugavere 


I wrote these in no particular order, and there’s definitely a couple shameless plugs in there for some things I have written, so I would invite you to dive into one or two of these at a time. All of these will inspire, inform, and/or empower you to change some aspect of the way you are living now. 


Don’t feel the need to implement everything you read all at once, or you’ll be like stressed out 22 year old Chase who was so confused at why he couldn’t just be like a saint right now. Remember that lifestyle changes, and the road to sanctity, will take our whole lives. Don’t let perfection be the enemy of the good.
